Hakone, where our laboratory is located, is the largest tourist destination in eastern Japan, located 90 minutes by car from Tokyo. However, tourists cannot be found due to stay home advice under the emergency declaration. In Hakone area, nobody infected COVID-19 so far.
At sunrise on May 9, I've been to a spot where I could see and took pictures of Mt. Fuji. After that, I prayed for the end of the virus in the world at Hakone Shrine on the shore of Lake Ashi near our laboratory.
